DAY 22: ASTORGA TO RABANAL DEL CAMINO (June 7)

Rabanal del Camino is one of my favorite villages along the Camino. It has a "quaintness" about it that is hard to resist. Also, there is a Benedictine monastery there with some of the kindest monks (all four of them!). The landscape just gets better and better as we move towards Galicia. We did get some rain off and on along the way. In the early morning of the 8th I woke up to a torrential rainstorm. Gladly, it had passed by the time we were set to leave on the next stage of the trek.
